Gavin Wynn is a cinematographer based in the Los Angeles area and native to the San Gabriel Valley. He learned hard work watching his father cook at small Chinese restaurants and his mother work night shifts doing data processing at a multinational conglomerate.

A latch-key kid, Gavin developed an early independence, creating for himself a world filled with fantastical stories. Teachers often sent disciplinary notes to his parents about young Gavin's constant daydreaming. This unintended encouragement and a love for movie watching led to film school where he discovered Wong Kar-Wai, Orson Welles, and Claire Denis.

Gavin wants to bring together the work-ethic and individualism his parents instilled in him and his love of beautiful art films to create a cinema utopia filled with peace and happiness.

If you share this idealistic vision, he wants to sing karaoke with you.

Send as many details of the project you’d like to collaborate with. I’ll be in touch soon.
